I was wondering how many versions there have been of the Yamaha Steve Gadd model snare drum. Aside from the current one that's out now (for $999!!!) I know of 2. I think the original was the one with the black triple flanged hoops and came in maple, birch and steel. The next version was the one with the wood hoops, again in maple, birch and steel.

Does anyone know if there were other versions?

Here's mine just for fun.

I thought it was a brass Super drum first, then the Supra.

If memory serves - Yamaha originally made maple , birch, steel and brass shell Stage Gadd snares in 14 x 5.5” and 13 x 5” sizes .
They then made a wood hoop version of the steel shell I believe .

There were a lot of different drums at first.
Later, wood hoops on maple/birch/steel shells: https://my.yamaha.com/files/download/brochure/2/324792/Drum_mini_catalog.pdf
At some point, they were offered with die-cast hoops, there are some demo videos from 2015 with these.

There was also a full signature kit many years ago but I'm not sure if the snare was anything different from what has already been mentioned above.
