Hi
This summer has been a mix of up and downs personally, but drum wise I had a couple of good weeks!

First an old friend calls and wonder if I want some drums. They're cleaning out their basement and one of their sons isn't interested anymore, and(!) "he probably bought these from you once" - the drums were going to a flea market but if I wanted them, I could take them.
My old (custom job, mixed shells) Premier wmp 28" and 13" (16 floor missing), 6 1/2 Pearl Jupiter snare, Tama 6 1/2 Gladstone bird maple snare and two pedals (DW5000 and Axis). Some fixing to do with the snares, but good condition overall.

A couple of weeks later: "hey, I don't need the drums I bought from you some years ago, they have to go. Do you want them back, for free?"
Tama Swingstar 1984 2x22, 12, 13, 16, 18 - customized with my band logo on the shells, still there.

Strange but good weeks...

kind of neat that stuff just finds its way to you...I've never seen a Premier that big (was it a marcher?)...and I think I used to drool over those Tama Gladstone's when they ran ads in Modern Drummer...sounds like some great stuff...expecially compared to me....yesterday I drove an hour to pick up a cracked Stagg ride because shipping was gonna be equal to the cymbal....you win!

One just has to love good, usable, drums for free
especially with the whole boomerang factor there.

I have never received any that I formerly owned ,
but I do have a fellow collector pal
that regularly calls me to come get project drums he buys on a whim,
and then after a while, he decides he just wants them to go away

Most recently it was a 60s Slingerland kit that was covered for years in white contact paper
those have been my fun summer project that started last winter and still not quite finished
