This just in!
The latest shipment from Summit has arrived. As always, DFO gets the best price.

Drum #180
Black Walnut 6.5x14 snare
This drum is crafted from a stunning swirly-chocolate board and has matching walnut rings. Perfection! Completed with 8 beavertail lugs, triple flanged hoops, Gibraltar vintage 3-point throwoff, and die cast butt. 30 degree bearing edges and oil finish.

Please check with me for available head and snare wire options. Currently wearing an Aquarian Texture Coated batter and 16-strand German steel wires.

Prices continue to go up on lumber, but we are doing our best to keep these affordable. Still hundreds less than other solid shells out there! This drum is BRAND NEW and backed by Gary against manufacturers defects.

NOW $629 including shipping in the continental US

The latest shipment from Summit has arrived and I will be working on real photos and prep to get them listed for sale, but I want to give DFO the first opportunity to purchase. As always, DFO gets the best price as well. Thread title will change when the drum gets new pictures and gets listed elsewhere (probably Friday).

This drum is just stunning to me. I hope that someone out there drooling over it decides to take the plunge!

Great drums! I will take the plunge sooner or later, just not sure of which size. Just out of curiosity, where does he source his walnut?

Here’s Gary’s answer:

I source it locally here in Ohio at a lumber mill in Amish country. I don’t know the source of every board but it’s domestic for sure.

The sloppy handwriting does not reflect the attention to detail. It’s so large too. Better penmanship, 1/10 the size would be cool.

Dunnett sold hundreds of drums with his scribbles inside for years... But it’s up to you if it bothers you or not. I would be happy to get you one without the writing or with some other type of label. That’s the advantage of a custom builder!
