You're likely to have to repair the rest at some point! They're very, very fragile (they never worked on the deeper drums they were used on either) and really don't like tension being put through them. It's a shame as that era Tama piccolos are lovely sounding drums.

I believe that to be the case. Yamaha had similar lug problems too I think
Love the early Tama snare drums sound for sure!!!!

Guessing brass. Bronze would look more orange, like an aged penny.
