You hear people linking Springsteen to Dylan quite a bit and, to me, that connection is most apparent in the lyrics of Tangled Up In Blue.

This song is a combination of a saying of mine and my favorite Thomas Wolfe book

Nostalgia is a powerful drug and You Can’t Go Home Again.

Such a great tune.

So many great songs by Dylan. This song, and Dylan more generally, is where I first started getting into songwriting as a craft. You can do THAT with a song? He's a master of the craft.

For decades I figured all that phenomenal brushwork was Keltner ,

Wrong .

Bill Berg , from Hibbing Minnesota , Dylan's home town .

There's a fantastic book written about the last minute recruitment of players for this session . Dead of winter , Minneapolis . Very Fargo-esque .

She might be in Tangiers

Dylan and Cohen elevate broken hearted romance to a sacramentaly warm and fuzzy level .

EDIT - Merle Haggard did finish high school .... in San Quentin prison . Mama tried and succeeded .
