Thank you. I was wondering how I would sum it up. You just did it for me.

I have their first 3 releases and went back and got some At The Drive In so I could sort of figure out what MV was about. I have to say, MV is more polished, but I like At The Drive In more.

I never got to see Mars Volta, but I did get to see At The Drive In a number of times. Those guys were so good live. I can only imaging seeing Mars Volta in person.
Yes. I think I saw ATDI a few times, during their In/Casino/Out and Relationship of Command days. ATDI were very good and consistent, but Mars Volta was another level.

That's fantastic! Good for them!! I do know of this band, but admittedly not well. This is another example of working within the music business as it exists today. It helps that they have a nice catalog that they laid down when the business wasn't what it is today.

+1 ‘Relationship of Command’ was such an epic album for me... saw them once upon a time, and then Mars Volta after they blew up a bit. MV put on a better stage show, but always dug the music of ATDI more.
