Behind my kit
With some time off for the holidays, I thought it would be a good idea to clean up some gear and take a holiday fam photo.
It's a fun collection, nothing stunning, mostly they are all workhorses. A couple are bad snares and didn't come home. lol. They are out in other rehearsal spaces so it's not the entire fam but you get the idea.

It looks like I see the best snare drum in the world, the 1998 panther maple deluxe, tell me if I’m right or wrong, on the bottom row middle drum! It never leaves my ORION KIT , one of the best drums I have ever played in my life!

Lol. It is a great ol’ snare. It’s probably around that time zone. i don’t remember exactly the year but it would be mid 90’s. It’s the second snare I purchased and the first time I was impressed with Mapex. Up until that point, I never thought much about Mapex and thought their quality was mediocre. The BP line changed my mind about Mapex and have since picked up two Saturn kits. I personally favor the starphonic snares but I won’t let this BP go as it’s been with me for a long time.

How does it sound?
Great! I have ebony ambassadors top and bottom on the 10. Emperor ebonies top and bottom on the 14. Ebony PS3 on the kick. Ebony ambo on the snare batter. Pretty happy with everything. I discovered I have a little Headley Grange at my house. Do you know about Bonham doing something similar? Research how they recorded “When the Levee Breaks.”

Here is the snare up close and personal.

Also my mighty but small 18x14 kick I was tuning up today.
