Just wanted to share and ask for some info in case anyone else out there takes on a vintage Premier project. This is the Americanzed version (also Beverley) with split lugs known as the Powerhouse. Mahogany shells with beech re-rings. Anyway after removing the old black duroplastic, note the glue pattern covers only the outside edges and seam area. Nothing in the middle. Also what appers to be a number written on the wood. Wondering if this is in regard to the drum or just an inventory number of the raw wood sheet. We may never know...

Would love to do a Premier or Beverley color such as viking gold, blue or grey shimmer, or mahogany duroplastic but I don't think anyone produces those. Anyone know for sure? Any stuff from China that's similar? I have seen this repro mahogany stuff but being a digital copy I'm not sure how good it is.

I ran across that Mahogany Duroplast in your link recently. I haven’t seen it in person but I’d think it could fool a lot of people. I think it looks pretty good and is somewhat faithful to the original.

So I ordered a piece of the imitation wrap from ebay. Took about a month to arrive from GB. Box was a little beat up but the wrap was fairly protected within a roll of blank stock within a roll of bubble wrap. I decided to try a small piece for a snare first and ordered for a 5.5 x 14 snare. It measures 5.5 inches high exactly and just under 46 inches long, so almost 2 inches of overlap. The material is the same as a photo vinyl type material you could get at FedEx/Kinkos. Appears to have a sticky strip at each end for adhesion but I may try to contact cement it anyway. Not sure how that will work on this material. Looks glossy behind the protective covering. I don't see any pixilation or anything in the pattern. I'll report more when I've wrapped.

Just wanted to update this thread in the wake of KO's recent glorious transformation of his Premier kit. I know I loved it. I tried the reproduction mahogany duroplastic wrap and didn't like it. I waffled on a color choice/design for a while thinking I'd go traditional and then um....went another direction.
Let me set this up by saying, imagine that KO's kit has a younger brother. Not likely seen as classy as his older sibling. Maybe tries a little harder to get noticed. Runs with a different crowd. Probably drives a muscle car. Might have had a mullet when younger. Also wanted to represent the sound and power of the Thunderbird (the spirit being, not the car). Might have been influenced a little by someone in KO's thread making a joke about using chevrons. I don't know...
