I used 10/12/13 for years as my 3 up setup and then realized that starting smaller and going with 8/10/12 was better not only in terms of ergonomics but also sound, as it gives me a much wider tonal range (plus I just love 8” toms).

I’m digging the power toms, the 14” floor tom on the left, and of course, the Reeboks. Now that’s ergonomics!

I’ve never seen Steve Smith with hair before, bit of a double take. If I could play like him, ergonomics might matter a little less. I need all the efficiency I can get

I’m loving the spread with the 12”/15”/ 18”, I bet 10”/12”/15”/18” would be killer. I only have single headed 8”s at the moment, but it is in the mix

I was three up for many years in the late 80's and still enjoy throwing an extra tom back in if the music calls to me! I was probable overly influenced by the 8 & 10" concert toms so many of us "older" guys ran up over our hi-hats in the early 80's that I never got comfortable pushing my hat to far to my side so the 10" always went high up over it.

Yeah, you guy's killed it with this unit!!!! My world is as clean and simple as I could ever want... trigger a pad or the whole set, nice and simple.

And you know, I did not think of it but I play three up more than I thought I did, it's just that often the first tom is replaced by a pad... which yes, at times has a tom sample on it!

I know, I just like that kit and that photo. I wanted to see you play it live but tix were too expensive.
