Wedding reception gig tonight. Had a good time. I decided to run an Acrolite this evening but was disappointed with it though it wasn’t the drum’s fault. I blame its owner (me) and his goofy tuning.

That series of photos through your life in drumming is sooo cool! And that skinny 'lil 1967 black tie.....what a time machine! Takes me way back.

Rehearsing for a wedding gig next week. 15 or so pop tunes, Stevie Wonder to Miley Cyrus with a little Stapleton thrown in. Band is all my cousins (all of them brothers) and 2 of them GA State music majors; all of them great players. What a fun time! Last time we all got to play together was probably a decade ago. The new Luddies with Kerope and Con fit in great and are a joy to play!

Not every gig is glamorous but every gig can be fun! This was a store grand opening last night in a strip mall, it faced a busy restaurant across the parking lot so I dubbed it the "Cracker Barrel Sessions"!

It's the first time I have used my single tom holder on this kit since I installed the tom mount on the kick. Typically when I uses this kit (22" base) I run a double tom mount but this was all I needed last night... very comfortable.
