It was great to play some jazz last night! 14" trans stamps, 22" overhammered thin, 21"ish Lauritsen Brian Blade Spizz clone, 22" K con flat. Stage custom birch bop house kit.
Wow - curious on the BB clone. Wondering how closely was Lauritsen able to reproduce the original vibe and if there are recordings of this cymbal that I could check out? Maybe I should order one with Lauritsen also...

Taken yesterday. I removed the inner ply on my Premier Resonator bass drum to install the Kelly SHU System and it sounds great. Interestingly, when I removed the Resonator ply, the drum seemed to resonate more. I used a felt strip to calm it down. It was way too boomy, even for me!

Thanks to a post I found here from a few years ago that provided the instructions for removing the inner ply. :)

I never knew the resonator ply was removable on these... First time i see this.
Game-changing for me. I'm hooked on the sound from mic'ing internally via the Kelly SHU and when I bought the kit it didn't occur to me the ply would prevent me from installing it. Removing it was a little tricky, but worth it in the end. And as I said, the drum resonates more without it.

Gaspé, Qc, Canada. Another nice small-ish soft seater.

I re-skinned the Broadkasters with my usual heads of choice: coated Pins. The red Hydros were nice for the look but were kind of a joke in the first place, I got tired of the plasticky uber-dead tone pretty fast. The coated Pins give me what I'm used-to and what I'm after: some musical thud, just bordering on open but not quite. Perfect for what I play.

Today's venue is "fun-sized" ... One of those places expressly designed for plays, not musical acts. There isn't any stage to speak of, just a blacked out area flush with the first row of seats. A nice little theater nonetheless. But yeah the first row is gonna have the amps kickin' em right in the dentures!!! ;-)

Not much of an office, but at least I can tap it softly.

This is the Sonor Signature Special Edition in custom ordered sizes 8x8, 10x8, 12x8, 14x14, 16x17, and a 18x15 kick.

The 22x15 is not pictured.

Wow! I didn’t know Sonor made the Sigs in trad sizes. First time I’ve ever seen a trad sized sig kit or non square sized kit. Uitstekend mooi drumstel!

Many gigs are being cancelled these days. 5 gigs the past 14 days.
But, a session is coming up and the artist wants to record the drums at my practice studio. Very convenient. The acoustics are great and they are bringing their rig over.

I’ll be using the small Maple kit; 18”12”14”16”

Dankjewel!

I didn't know either until they appeared on my radar. The artist who ordered them had a good forsight :-D

Its a stunner and musical beast. The new owner will be so thrilled with it.
