While we are in the subject, is the hardware textured or smooth?
real close to smooth @CC Cirillo real close.
entire set has one mark; the 10" has a thumbmark (looks like it) thumbnail size black mark ; backside of top 10" hoop; like it was touched early; no other imperfect other anywhere (so I see it as kind of an identifying birthmark +/- but overall way more smooth than rough.
Way closer to smooth than rough.

(reminder. These were NOS unsold (but discontinued) sitting in and on the Gretsch warehouse shelves. A dealer visited- bought all - pictured them- (he bought all remaining old stock; there were Satin walnut, Satin black, Satin Rosewood, in multiple sizes) Put them on eBay. Individually. I picked these four from him. Lucky. Was risky chance; were no trad depth toms. I put them together from what he advertised. I almost lost out on the 12. As he said it sold but then later came back and said the fella reneged. I immediately immediately breathlessly grabbed it. (else I would have been 18/10/14..)

Gretsch shipped them; they shipped from Gretsch warehouse (vineyard literally) to me. Bravo.
That's the arrangement the Dealer had. Fantastic. Unusual. Like me and the drums ; ). (kidding..)

14x18 10x12 9x10 12x14 square badge USA I think they- this series- got the last of -the USA made - components but are totally modern.
I sense some New Jersey based Advanced Casing Co. (like the old RB New York drums) USA metal in them

Mom has been letting me use the better room for music stuff. Been fooling around with these Remo ebony heads, getting my drums singing better, and especially liking this new kick drum muffling method that a DFO member suggested. View attachment 541927
Nice view :) I love the view from my throne, keeps me mellow

Love that set list - some of my favorites! Song 1 of set 1 is especially great. Ella did an amazing job with that one.

Got lucky with this band. Tunes are real fun.

The house kit was great too. Yamaha Maple Custom. Black sparkle wrap. Tuned the toms up high and they just sang. For the snare, I used the Yamaha Beech Custom Absolute 14x7 I picked up from @PassiveTone78

And for cymbals…the Istanbul Mehmet 20 MC Jazz and 21 Sultan Jazz Sizzle. Which I couldn’t sell on the forum :) But keeping now

We play this bar once a month, bar said they'd throw the band an extra $50 to play another set last night. Totally not worth it, but the crowd was great and everyone was having a great time. 5 sets is one too many. I was worthless after 4.

An attractive but intoxicated woman placed a $10 tip on my drums, which ended up on my rug. She started talking to me on a break and I was like, NOT TODAY SATAN! jk.

14" Bosphorus thin turk series dark hats sound good in this room. To my right, my beloved 21" Istanbul Mehmet Legend ride. It really is perfect.
