in the great pantheon of rock star/police run-ins, that was pretty tame... as to pulling 'don't you know who I am' card? Hell, I'd do the same thing if I thought for a second it might save me from arrest! lol

I actually worked master control for TMZ (on TV), because the company I worked for at the time helped to distribute the show. During the show's playback, I was on the phone with their studio(on "the bridge") in case of an audio/video/closed-captioning issue, and I developed a good working relationship with them. I've also been involved on the production/distribution of several TV shows, some of them known tabloid shows, during my 30+ years in the business.
Because of my experience working in both the industry as well as directly with them, I thought it useful to clarify that they are, in fact, totally legit, even though they are entertainment/sensational news. They're aware of how absurd their stories are--just watch the show.
I'm flattered that you would actually take the time to go to the website and copy out their headlines, like you're educating me. That's cute. And hilarious.
