The Streets of San Francisco, and also during the show there are amazing drum parts as well.
Absolutely cool groove in that theme. Here's the king of them all:
Great hook and key change/ modulation in the WKRP intro and then on the other end of the stratosphere for the take out theme. I love how the lyrics are indiscernible. Just adds to the fun!I heard the WKRP theme the other day and never really took the time to appreciate what a fantastic drum groove it had. It got me thinking about some of my other favorites from the 80's - Night Court and Barney Miller (which we played in high school stage band).
Personally, I dream of Barbara Eden. How about....I dream of Jeannie>?
Earl PalmerHow about....I dream of Jeannie>?
Was that Earl Palmer? I'm not sure. He played on so many TV themes: M Squad, 77 Sunset Strip, Bourbon Street Beat, Hawaiian Eye, Peyton Place, I Dream of Jeannie, Green Acres, Ironside, The Outsiders, It Takes A Thief, Leslie Uggams Show, Brady Bunch, Della, Partridge Family, Burke's Law, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Odd Couple, M.A.S.H., and others. Plus dozens of film scores. In his heyday, the guy was everywhere. The drums on Hawaii Five-O were killer!

There were several versions of The Man From Uncle theme. The original from season one in 5/4 was one of the greatest TV themes of all time, IMO!How about :
I looked into some of these and the GREAT Earl Palmer played on many of them

Randy Waldman did an album called “UnReel” about 20 years ago that is all music from movies and TV. Vinnie on drums, Patitucci on bass, Michael Brecker, Lew Soloff, Branford Marsalis, Gary Burton. Real solid album with some fun arrangements. Vinnie throws DOWN.I’m doing a record with my weirdo jazz guys, Spider-Man, Jetsons, Munsters, Twilight Zone, …
Those tunes have a lot of unexpected complexity that one doesn’t notice on casual listening.
