In the 60s to present, I have loved my Ludwig and Slingerland drums. Slingerland lets you almost always make that great rim shot every time due to the rim being so close to the head.

Im yrying to put my brain around the first phrase of the first sentence.

....in the 60s to present....

What does that mean?

Does that mean since the 1960s until yesterday you have been loving your drums. Especially rim shots?

I like many things about my Slingerlands and the stick saver rims is one part. I think of them as a cross between diecast and triple flanged.

I know after owning 3 gretsch kits I do not like die cast rims on toms or on snares. Dont like the "stiff" feel.

I like the rimshots on my 2 Gretsch round badge snares? Very sharp and snappy, I love the die cast hoop feel.
