Here are pictures of a Mahogany shell from a vintage Walberg & Auge kit. It is drilled for Rogers Beavertail lugs. I was told originally that these are Slingerland shells. Could anyone identify from the photos the manufacturer of the shells originally and an era?

Doesn’t look like any Slingerland mahogany shells I’ve ever seen. The only mahogany Slingerlands I’ve seen have been radio kings with the wide reinforcement rings.

Here is a sample of a mahogany/poplar/mahogany, with solid maple rering, Slingerland Modern Jazz Outfit dated Jan 1963. I also have a ‘58 ish Radio King in the same Mahogany 3 ply shell and it too has the narrow 1” solid reinforcement ring. Some literature suggests mahogany shells were used until mid ‘63. The shell above does appear to have plys in the rering, a feature apparently not consistent with Slingerland. Hope this helps.

looks like a Rogers Ring and edges, Its more Rogers than W&A. Not sure about the interior mahogany that's a puzzler/ I had a Rogers 18 in that finish.

my understanding was W/A only used Rogers and Gretsch shells...W/A shells are usually dated in pencil and the real old ones...with sort of an imprint.

I honestly have no real plans. I have the 16x16 FT, 14x22 kick drum, and 8x12 rack tom. I really do not know what to do with them.
