Vintage snare for jazz recommendations

Greetings all- been thinking of getting new snare, maybe a project one, that would be versatile but especially good fit for jazz playing. Wondering what others out there might have tried? Any particular models that others are pleased with and that won’t break the bank? Thanks in advance.

60's Jazz fest is my go to. Pioneers can be found at a lesser cost and they will do the job just fine.

If you want a vintage snare but with a smaller budget - go Premier!

so true ! I have several vintage Premiers , 50s-60s , all very suitable for jazz

Vintage Premier…either Royal ace or the 14x4 COB piccolo, and yes I have other snares too like custom made and ‘67 supra, still 14x4 Premier is my pick.
