I bought this snare a few years ago but never warmed up to it, as I am pretty much a died-in-the-wool 14" metal (brass or aluminum) snare guy. Drum in question is a very cool 13x7 maple DW performance USA snare, no longer being made, rare gloss maple finish.

Anyway, selling this thing was a real nightmare!

I went to sell it on CL and Reverb, it sat for a while, I finally got a decent offer on Reverb ($290), and off it goes. The buyer does not like it, and SENDS IT BACK! I have never had an item returned on Reverb before.

SOOO... I go to sell it again. I keep getting crazy low offers on reverb, $150-$170 bucks. No dice.

Then I start getting low-ball offers thru CraigsList, where I clearly state in the ad that I DO NOT DICKER ON PRICES.

The last CL guy basically demanded that I sell it to him for $200 and he would be right over... would not take no for an answer. Very weird.

So wadda ya think? Why so tough to sell this one? Odd size? People just want to get a USA DW snare for pennies? Possibly cursed by voodoo? I just don't get it, it was a beautiful drum, unique size, rare model, USA made, good quality.

(PS... I finally sold it on Reverb, I took a small loss but it is gone)

Does it have rerings and a finished interior? The 6+10 or something similar?

If so, I had one a d could NEVER get it to sound great. Sounded decent at best after tunings, heads, rims, and voodoo. Could never get it to sing.
