i paid a good chunk for mine.

i am curious. you said you looked 35 years. were you after any 70's 6.5 BB, or were you waiting for this particular one? i ask because they do come up from time to time. anyway, welcome to the club.

I owned a few 6.5 BB drums over the years, but they were a bit more modern. 1987 through 2018. The ‘87 and ‘92 were bronze, and I found that I prefer the brass versions. Have known about them since Modern Drummer as a kid.

I have a drum buddy in town who owns a ‘78 and I’ve seen and heard him use it and it’s always a winner. Knew I’d have to bite the bullet and spring for an original reissue if I wanted that vibe.
