Hum, listening now while writing this. Album Bassics, The Best Of, The Ray Brown Irio, 1977-2000

As some of you know I play Classic Country and a background of Big Band of years ago but right now I'm loving this album of great Jazz. And even more loving the grove. A good bass man friend of mine (one of the better bass players in Austin) is loaning me the album. I may not take it back; LOL!!!

I saw the Ray Brown Trio around '99 or '00.
I was working nights in Seattle then and I drove up to a big Starbucks on Capitol Hill.
He was playing with a new drummer who was getting a lot of buzz at the time.
Kareem Riggins.
Band knocked it out of the park.
I got to talk with Riggins after the show. Nice kid. Very "down-to-earth".
They released an album of the gig (remember when Starbucks sold CD's?).

There's a whole bunch of clips from that film on youtube.
Here's another one with Papa Jo....

...and here's the youtube playlist, in case you want to see all clips in one sitting....

Seems like a pretty cool flick. I'd like to see it in its entirety some day.
