Here is a study in great rhythm sections. Also, if you also play piano listen to how Gene Harris stays out of Andy Simpkins' way.

I have 13,000 tracks loaded on my mp3 player, and generally listen in shuffle mode, so at any moment may hear anything from Junior Brown to the Berlin Philharmonic. When I focus on a single artist I usually shuffle among all their songs. Lately I've been really digging on Dixie Dregs and Tribal Tech, and wishing I'd found them years ago.

That said, this performance is really popular with the guys in my jazz groups. Byron Landham is a sorely underappreciated drummer, IMO.

Ran across this while surfing youtube recently, and was blown away.

I have been listening to the new ABBA album Voyage . It is very good , no great drumming gymnastics but the vocals are still great , as are the lyrics and orchestration .

My listening is very eclectic. I fluctuate from 60's pop , Romantic classical, movie sound track , Big Band, polka. classic country, rockabilly, and presently the Gipsy Kings which I would guess you classify as low country flemenco.
