I love DW. This kit always looks and sounds good regardless who is producing the show.

I have others, but my DW 5000 Accelerator pedal gets the call for 90% of gigs or sessions. Cymbal-wise, I tend to go with either Paiste Sigs, or A Zildjians. 6x14” Noble & Cooley SS maple is my snare of choice these days, but I may also bring a ‘70s Acro or Super Sensitive for a different voice.

My cheap old Paiste 404 Sound Edge Hats. Bought new in 1981. By far my cheapest pair, but the ones I grab 90% of the time. Another workhorse piece is my Pearl P100 pedal. I bought this thing 10 years ago to use on my rehearsal kit. Liked it so much that the Iron Cobra has been relegated to backup duty.

My gigging rug has been with me for almost 20 years at this point. It’s never let me down. No slipping or creep. It’s seen things and survived more gig-related maladies than any carpet should ever experience. He’s a champion.
An underrated part of the team.

My Soundseat retro top that I got from JR before he passed. I can’t gig with anything else or my back will be killing me the next day.

I’ve gone through many different sizes/series of cymbals, but they’re always Paiste. Signature, Formula 602, Rude, 2002, Twenty, they all just work.

Drum wise it’s been a set of UK made 90’s Premier Genistas. Those have seen more shows over the last 15 years than anything else I own/owned. However, those are getting somewhat retired now since taking delivery of a Sonor SQ2.

I go through phases with snares, but I’d be most lost without my 6.5” Black Beauty and 6.5” Jenkins/Martin fiberglass drums.

I also love my 404 Sound Edges.

My '58 Pioneer snare. Pork Pie Throne. Italian Tosco ride. Speed King pedals. All have been my mainstays for over 20 years now.....

So these are the most recent workhorses...the Camcos have been my go to since I finished them 4 years ago. The stands are the DW6000 ultra light and are relatively new to me yet, but I have used those hats and right riveted Paiste 18" 404 for nearly 15 years. Same for the 18" Z custom on the right...that was the first new cymbal purchase I had ever made. This gig was the first for the Sonor D528, and as backup the Sonor D506 right behind. I will mix other sets in to give em play time...I am at home with this setup.

I use this 1966 Ludwig Super Classic in original Oyster Black Pearl "workhorse" 22/13/16 ; mostly use it with a 65 Supra and occasionally substitute a '66 Pioneer in original oyster black pearl ..

I bought a 1960s 20” A. ride from a dude on drumsmith 20 years ago, one that he accurately described as “vanilla.” (That’s why he was selling it, he said.) The nice thing about vanilla is it works with damn near any other toppings! Not *interesting* but almost always gets the job done.
