Though I’m not a big fan of his, I agree that Stewart Copeland had a huge impact on the sound of The Police.
My heart says The Professor.
I was thinking maybe who was irreplaceable , had an identifiable sound ?I think you could say just about any popular band but when I said The Professor I was thinking more about how he affected Rush after he joined. Someone like AVH for example was always in VH so his sound was already there…maybe I misunderstood the question?
I felt that MC was wasted talent in PJ but agree with you on DA. I’ve never been able to spell his name, well done. Here is one I will throw out and not in a good way.
Jack Irons.
I hated Pearl Jam with him in the band. Matt Cameron brought them back to relevance with me but I still like Dave Abbruzzese the best.
What am I , the forum Police ??OK @Houndog imma hijack this thing for just one post:
Who was the best, most memorable, and most important Jethro Tull drummer. And why?
Hope this is ok.
Matt is another guy with just a unique sound. He was a huge part of the Soundgarden sound. He still sounds good with PJ but his feel was made for the heavier Soundgarden sound IMO.I felt that MC was wasted talent in PJ but agree with on DA. I’ve never been able to spell his name, well done.
Cool. Didn’t want to step on anyone’s toes. What am I , the forum Police ??
You post what you want .
As in life , discussions should meander a bit methinks .
Wasn’t Clive Bunker the guy on the hits ?OK @Houndog imma hijack this thing for just one post:

Agreed. He was central to the Soundgarden sound for me.Matt is another guy with just a unique sound. He was a huge part of the Soundgarden sound. He still sounds good with PJ but his feel was made for the heavier Soundgarden sound IMO.
Wasn’t Matt on Temple Of The Dog as well ?Agreed. He was central to the Soundgarden sound for me.
Yeah I think he was the only drummer on Temple. Agreed, great album.Wasn’t Matt on Temple Of The Dog as well ?
