These are some old Gretsch drums that belong to a friend who wants an idea of value and desirability. These pictures are all I have at the moment. Any ideas?

Looks to be 40s round badge with broadkaster rocket lugs. Not sure on the wrap that's pretty out there.

As far as value I'm not entirely sure. Condition looks pretty rough, but they should be nice 3ply shells. Do you have the bottom hoops? Without the bottom hoops and the non matching wrap I wouldn't think theyd be super valuable but j could be wrong

Edit: looks like the bottom heads maybe have been tacked on?

Right and that looks like contact (nice job) paper.

I think you got a little set there, if you clean them up.
Just need a snare)

See if the green if paper peels off
on second thought, eh do what you want.
but looks like a 26 (something 24..) 13/14

there's many of those BK's on ebay sometimes ask a lot of money-not sure if they actually get it.
you got calfskins, the badges, lot of desirables in there..

I think there is a snare as well. I don't know if that contact paper or not, will let you know. He also has a slingerland set that looks in about the same condition, possible duco...,again, I don't know yet

Late 40s Gretsch (1945/46ish).

That's not wrap but the paint and adhesive for what would have been Midnight Blue Pearl wrap.

And if it's still wrapped, then it's the paint underneath the translucent wrap that has faded.

Realistic value? $200 IF you're lucky. and that's a BIG if.

Well then they were obviously re-wrapped in the 60s because that is definitely NOT an original Gretsch finish, wrap or otherwise. As for the drum shells themselves, they are definitely from the late 40s. The round tack in the tom badge is the tell.

Could be - they look like a very yellowed (long periods exposed to smoke-filled rooms?) and they must may be one of Gretsch's Pearl finishes. Hard to say for sure from here though. Cool drums
