Here's the setup I'm using for an audition tomorrow. It's a Americana/rockabilly/country thing and the audition is happening in a guitar players living room.

14" Sabian Light hats
17" A Zildjian proto crash/ride

20" Slingerland kick
14" Pearl Sensitone snare (haven't decided which snare I'm taking tomorrow)

My meagre collection varies but right now I own:

20" K Ride (90's I think)
20" Sabian Ride first run pre-HH drilled for 7 rivets
20" Krut Special drilled for 8 rivets
18" Sabian Studio Crash
16" 60's A crash
16" 70's Canadian A
14" 60's A paper thin
14" 70's Paiste 505 hats
14" Sabian pre-AA heavy hats
10" & 8" Sabian SR2 splashes

I'm really digging the 20" Sabian first run pre-HH Ride. I gigged Saturday and Sunday with it for the first time and enjoyed the washy feel. Very different from the K ride I have been gigging with of late.

Today?

20" late 50s (small stamp) Avedis ride 2 rivets 1975g
18" early 50s (Trans stamp) Avedis ride 2 rivets 1562g
14" late 50s (small stamp) Avedis flange hats 740g written on each one but weighted them myself yesterday and I get 760g. Not that 20g matters.

I thought I should put these up since I seem to be doing so much Avedis research at the moment. :happy11:

Angel,

Bitchin' setup you got there.
The hats - are they on a cable or is that a fixed setup, like an X-hat?

It's a fixed setup. It's the Tama X-Hat 895. It conveniently fits in my Ludwig Cymbal Base. You can loosen or tighten the tension via the bottom. I generally keep them slightly loose with a sizzle sound. For Cymbal stands in the pic I'm using Premier Lokfast. These are my favorite looking stands, but I'll probably use some Ludwig Hercules stands to keep the Ludwig thing together.

Now that I get a better look, I really like that stand!
You got the hats and stick holder going on, plus you have some built-in movement allowing you to place the hats where ever you want, using the boom arm.
I really dig the simplicity of that kit, too.
It gets down to business and gets it done.
The Premier stands are cool. I'd use 'em if I were you, but its your kit so do what cha' want.
Thanks for sharing that with us. =)

I love this.

The only reason I have a large drumset is to be able to arrange more cymbals around it.

Well, the last couple of gigs have been a Paiste 19" prototype ride, 16" Paiste Masters crash and some 14 Hats from Matt Nolan. I've been playing smaller cymbals on the Vapors gigs lately. This set seems to work well together. I want to have Matt make me a 'ride' to match the hats, but don't know when that will happen. I've been going a little nuts looking for a main 'ride' cymbal lately but I won't be keeping everything I've bought. Probably take a few to the drum shop tomorrow.
