Funny you should mention, I just picked up a bottle of the protectant last week at the Sam Ash in Lombard, IL. I was talking about how scarce both the cleaner and protectant are, the associate said there are only 2 bottles of the protectant available at Sam Ash locations, no cleaner. Which locations? I didn't ask but I'm sure if you call any Sam Ash they can look it up.
Last week I acquired a 1984, 20" 2002 ride from the fine gentlemen at Drugan's here in IL. Now, I appreciate a fine, even patina on vintage cymbals and own a couple like that. However, I draw the line when there's enough grime and DNA from at least 15 people coating the cymbal. I wanted to at least try the cleaner but it's nowhere to be found. From the research I did it sounds like Paiste is in the process of reformulating the cleaner and protectant, no ETA as of yet.
I've used Wright's Copper Cream, Bar Keepers Friend and Blue Magic Metal Polish, all with good results in the past. My only concern was the 2002 (B8, CuSn8) alloy because of the higher copper content. I decided to go with the Blue Magic followed by the protectant. It's been 5 days since the cleaning/application with about 7 hours of playing time on the ride. So far so good! Below is the before and after...

I've been nursing a bottle of cleaner for a while. The last time I used it the plastic dispensing-restrictor-disk-thingy fell out & I lost a bunch.
AUUGHH!!
Be careful, folks.

It seems crazy that they would let this happen! How difficult can it be to find another manufacturer to make their products?

I think Paiste stopped looking to make a cleaner. They keep it posted that it is 'coming soon', but it's almost March 2021. What does 'coming soon' mean to Paiste...landing from Mars?

Right now there are shortages of everything and prices are climbing on whatever's out there, so I wouldn't count on seeing this stuff anytime soon.

The liquid Bar Keepers Soap does a nice job for me.

It was counterfeit. He was caught up in a raid by Interpol on a Swiss cartel dealing the phony product across Europe and North America.

He's doing 25 to life now...

I know "don't answer a question with a question", but just out of curiosity, what would be the most you would pay for a set of Cleaner, and protector?

$10-12 for a bottle of cleaner (the orange stuff) and $0 for the blue bottle protector. The protector in my opinion is absolutely worthless and the equivalent of a liquid placebo. Might as well be a fancy bottle of water not that I'd wanna drink it.

Right now I'm using FLITZ polish instead with fantastic results.

As for when paiste will come back out with polish there is no way to tell. As a company they don't seem to really care at all or place much priority on getting it back on the market. Perhaps Erik is busy crafting some stellar new cymbals to blow our minds with. HAH!

As the Protector being a "placebo", that's the same exact solution used on Paiste cymbals before being shipped out.
Once cleaned, and protected, if you just wipe down cymbals after use, they should stay clean.

I'll be honest. I got a decent amount of $ for sets of cleaner, and protector. I would have felt bad accepting that kind of money from people I interact with.
I haven't brought it up, as I felt weird.

It is true. Watch some of the artists who tour the facility. I know they still have the Protector, I just don't know if they're bottling it

Try Gelb in Redwood City .
I saw some the other day on the shelf.
Grab every last one.
The reformulation of the cleaner/protector is not true!
I posted about it in 2018 when it 1st became harder to find. For about 18 months they said it was on BO, so I got a couple bottles of each of Ebay.
By 2020, I saw the cleaner selling $90 a bottle, a few months later $90 for a 1/2 bottle!.
About 6 months ago someone advertised they had the protector for $20 a bottle. I told him I'd take as much as he had. He responded saying it was an accident, and had none. It's was a scam on his part, so people would check out his E-Store.
I searched everywhere! (So if you found a few bottles of protector...well that's up to you)
Dave's Drum Shop up in Canada had a limited amount, but I still took all he had. A chain in Greece had some more, and I took all they had..
I'm hoping an inlaw, who grew up 20 minutes from the Paiste plant in Switzerland, can get a decent amount.
1 bottle of each will either protect your cymbal investments, or raise the retail value.
The cleaner is amazing. I accident had a drop run down the side of a cymbal I was able to clean. That drop ran down the side. Without rubbing, scrubbing, anything, I had a line that looked like a brand new cymbal.
Anyway, if I can find it, I'm grabbing it, and as much of it as I can, as long as it's in a sealed Paiste box.
Once cleaned, and protected, just wipe em down with a soft cloth after use, and they will stay looking brand new
