What's the latest status of the Paiste Cymbal Cleaner and Protector?

I used to be on FB with Kelly Paiste as a FB friend. We texted a bunch, but I’m off FB now almost 5 years. If anyone searches her out, ask her about this elusive cleaner. By the way I am down to about 1/3rd of a bottle. The blue bottle protector corroded through the plastic and could not be saved. No idea how people say it lasts forever, even wine and cheese goes bad eventually.

Wow. I never heard anything like that. I'm guessing the bottles I bought were a couple years old???.
I did have 2 bottles of each I bought in 18, and they're fine.
I used those to compare to whst I got recently, just incase someone tried putting in fake/watered down...I couldn't tell any difference.
Are you sure you didn't try to store Hydrochloric Acid in it

I am down to half a bottle of the cleaner and three quarters of a bottle of the protector . I am being very frugal with its usage . I will definitely be keeping an eye out to see if this come back .

Luckily ya only need a few drops.
After tbe protector is on, and you finish using the cymbal, just wipe em down with a fine cloth, and they'll stay looking good for a very long time

Ive used a few drops, I've used more than a few drops. Blue bottle paiste protector does nothing.

I don't know? Maybe you got a bad batch. I don't know if anyone else who has used it had those results?
I'll clean, and protect an 18 2002 that needs it. I'll post pics when I'm finished.
This is not to be insulting, as I'm guilty of the doing this far to often.
Did you follow the directions. They're in tiny print. My 1st time using both products i completely did it wrong. It still came out pretty good.
Did you only get 1 bottle? Perhaps is came from a poorly mixed batch?

Well for years Paiste touted only using their cleaner & polish otherwise the coating could come off and the cymbal warranty could be voided. So, myself included, only used Paiste cleaner and protectant. I play pre Sig Sound Formulas so I have left them uncleaned. But now it is apparent that only peace in The Middle East will bring back Paiste cleaner, so maybe Zildjian Brilliant Cleaner needs to be tried. The question is who wants to go first?

No acid. I was both pissed and surprised that it happened. I think the bottle was over 10 years old though.

Apparently it truly IS liquid gold, and more valuable than the bronze itself...

I wouldn't use the Zildjan. It takes the letters rightboff, and leaves them with a strange look. I've tried. I mean use whatever you'd like, I'm just going by everything I used (all on a old cracked 2002) tiny crack, and the only cymbal I ever cracked, so it's become a Guinea pig

Yep just one bottle. It looked like milky white water if I recall. I own a lot of reflector cymbals which are quite delicate so the orange bottle would definitely remove the factory coating. Then after cleaning I would apply the protector and let dry. I have no recollection of what the directions said to be honest. I recall visible brown oxidation forming on all my cymbals within about 48 hours.

True, I've bought cymbals that cost less than what guys are paying for this polish!

Am I the only one that doesn't clean my cymbals? I play Sabian and some are almost too bright new. I'm not talking about burying in the ground but a nice little patina after a couple of years seems to take the edge off and "age" them into a smoother sound.

Nah, I'm always hearing about drummers who like their cymbals with that grimy look.
I don't find that to be the case too often with drummers, and their Paiste's.
Some say cymbals even sound better dirty. I don't find that to be the case with Paiste.
It's pretty remarkable how much even the B8 line can cost ya.

Yeah I guess I should have taken the topic at hand into consideration. Having never owned anything but a 20" B8 Pro Heavy Ride I guess it's a B20 thing. I still have my very first cymbal purchase around probably '89, a 16" AA Thin Crash, and I wouldn't even call it grimy.
