Yeah I guess I should have taken the topic at hand into consideration. Having never owned anything but a 20" B8 Pro Heavy Ride I guess it's a B20 thing. I still have my very first cymbal purchase around probably '89, a 16" AA Thin Crash, and I wouldn't even call it grimy.
That was a nice 1st cymbal. If I had to chose only 1 size for a crash cymbal, it would be a 16 inch. I started out with the Sabian B8 pack. They made a cymbal type noise I guess;).
It's really amazing what Paiste has been able to do with that alloy. I think both Zildjan have made better sounding models using B8? The S line. If that's B8?

Zildjian's "S" series cymbals are made of B12 alloy, around half way between a 2002 and the Signature series Paiste. I don't know if anyone else uses it.

Ok, thanks. I wasn't sure, I had just knew it wasn't B20.
I know some people tend to think any cymbal that's made of B8 alloy, are junk. Although I'm not a huge fan of most of their B8 rides, I think the 2002 15 SE hats are the best hats $ can buy. I have the 14's, and 17's, and they sound great, however there's something magical about the 15's.
Same with the GB 20. I think that's up there with any 20 inch for a crash. They just sound great, evrn when recorded on an ipad, just amazing

Nah, I'm always hearing about drummers who like their cymbals with that grimy look.
I don't find that to be the case too often with drummers, and their Paiste's.
Some say cymbals even sound better dirty. I don't find that to be the case with Paiste.
It's pretty remarkable how much even the B8 line can cost ya.

Funny you should say that....I always feel like 602s/2002s want to be bright/shiny..while A.Zils want to be grungy!

I listed a 4/5 full bottle of cleaner on eBay at 3 am this morning for $90....it sold by 3 pm!

Are people selling the Protecter for same price?

$11.95 price tag intact Strong graphics..
Rare shape I've only seen 7 million of them.
Sealed bids accepted up to Aug. 22
Or it's going to Gurnsey's auction house in Bel-Air

All kidding aside, this thread is having me seriously consider selling my sealed full bottles...

This Paiste cleaner / protector is like the best stuff ever???
And they have taken it off the market because of some enviromental issues?

I don't know these things, I generally don't clean cymbals. Hip me.

You may as well. I figure 4 bottles of each will last me a lifetime as long as I wipe em down after use. You don't have any protector? Maybe we can make a trade?, as that really does protect them well. 14 bottles at $200+ each buys you a very nice kit, and a few choice cymbals., and ya keep 3.
I'm kicking myself for not grabbing as many as possible. A $10 bottles sold at $200...Nice profit!

If it's for an environmental thing, you know more than I do. That's not true. It is magic stuff, but I doubt it's made from anything radioactive, or anything that's going to excellorate global warming.
I wrote about my 1st experience with the back order in 2018.
I called the warehouse in Cali, and was told it would be back on the market Jan 2019.
2019, nothing! About 6 months later I called again, and told it was taken off the market.
I don't know if the company is just run poorly now, or what?
I was at the GC a couple days ago (BTW, DO NOT GET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY).
ANYWAY, There were maybe 5 Paiste cymbals in the entire store. It's been like that at every music store I go to.
It seems they are surviving by their reputation. Eventually the young drummers may not get to play Paiste, go to Meinl, and that seriously could be it!?
Meinl is endorsing almost all the young visible drummers on YouTube.

Really thinking of selling my 2 bottles. My cymbals haven't been out the cases in 5 or 6 years and probably won't come out anytime soon. Really need to be realistic and sell them off as well.

I only know of a few times I've seen Paiste in a shop with a decent selection. Most times it 5-10 cymbals tops.

I just received answer to a mail I wrote to paiste about this liquid gold. Sadly, there isn't much news:

Leider waren wir mit einigen Herausforderungen konfrontiert, was die Beschaffung der Materialien für unseren Cymbal Cleaner und Protector betrifft.

Wir arbeiten jedoch mit Hochdruck daran, die beiden Produkte so rasch wie möglich wieder verfügbar zu machen.

Sadly we where confronted with some issues considering the acquisition of the materials for our Cymbal Cleaner and Protector.

We are working very hard to make both products available again as soon as possible.

At least, there is hope :)

I hope so. What's a bit disturbing is they keep changing their story.
Back ordered, then environmental, now materials?
Like I said, I hope so, but I'm not about to hold my breath

Here’s mine. Came with a Bonham Vistalite set with full 2002 lineup, oh, maybe 10 years ago.

Makes you wonder how much of this stuff they’re hoarding to use on new cymbals before they leave the factory…..
