I'M STILL HESITATING BETWEEN THIS ONE AND THE PEARL SENSITONE PREMIUM BRONZE..MAYBE I WILL HAVE BOTH IF I LIKE THE SOUND OF BRONZE BUT YES, IT'S SUPER PRETTY AND YOU SAY IT SOUNDS GOOD SO, MY IDEA TO GRAB ONE WAS A GOOD IDEA.I'm contributing WAY too much to this thread lately. I caved to temptation and bought this INDe 6.5 x 14 bronze snare. Good gravy, she sounds as pretty as she looks. I'm done buying gear for a time. I haven't decided how long that time will be though. lol

The color is so nice, you just have to learn the Phil Collins repertoire now
Still have to wait for them to arrive, but just pulled the trigger on a 12/14/20 Rogers kit. A little rough around the edges but I’m pretty pumped. I figured a true 14” floor would stay out of my price range View attachment 587550
Its legit Rogers. I’ve been building a Rogers shell bank to eventually rewrap and figured that I’d be settling for converting a marching snare or 15x12 for a small floor, but these popped up in reach. The interiors have been painted black at some point but flat gray shows under the washers so should be DaytonBeautiful, is the 14 not a legit Rogers? Or am I reading this wrong? 60s or 70s kit?

So as it turns out…
I’m the second owner. Original owner bought new ‘62
It was his instrument in Senior High school was put away at his parents house in Northern South Carolina where is sat for over 55 yrs was recently rediscovered when cleaning out the attic after both parents had passed.
That cloth bag really did it’s job!
I learnt so much with it and it helped me a lot to tune drums by ears to finalize the last few hertz.FedEx just delivered this. Perfect timing as I took a vacation day today so I could do lots of fun drum stuff. New goal: learn a lot more about tuning!

I always loved Ludwig's old mahogany lacquer finish. My college symphony orchestra had an 18x40 concert bass drum in that finish (with maple hoops). I spent a fair amount of time with my head next to its shell as I played the drum with my foot on its stand, muffling it with my knee. (We never did any modern music that called for using two mallets on the bass drum.)
Yup same here. Brings me right back to school band 5th grade. Had the big ol WFL mahogany bass drum on the stand (had wheels) I bet every school in America had one!I always loved Ludwig's old mahogany lacquer finish.
