Just same state purchases, right? Or on all sales? I purchased a drum set today and didn't pay tax.

Which state, which seller? If it is a major retailer they have to collect sales tax for every state where they have a physical presence.

There are a couple of longer Reverb articles you can search for that give all the details.

They no longer have to have a physical presence in order to be required to collect sales tax for the states they sell in.

My state (Connecticut) began on April 1st on EBay and Reverb. About 10 states will be on the list by year end. Some began in January. These are probably sales taxes you should have been applying every year on your own. Now it's made "easier" for you.

NJ-origin personal sale to someone out of state. Yes certainly made "easier" for me. Thanks Reverb!
