He is now on Drummerworld under the name of "Son of Vistalite Black". You are welcome to join.
He is all over that site now
He joined up at the Steve Hoffman Forum with that same user name and started the same thread there.
and many other threads lol

I think this post from that other thread sums it up pretty well. Having been both a moderator and an admin of large forums myself, I can relate.
"There are members here who like to be civil and post drum-related stuff, and discuss. Then there are members who simply like dissent. VB is one of them, although he did it in a somewhat entertaining way.
Those that like the rabble-rousers, the obnoxious ones, the one ones who like to pick fights or post a lot of complaints are the ones that make life difficult for the mods, and also for those of us that like civility on the forum.
"Your right to disagree" is not your right to poop all over the forum."

Listen, there's a few here the above should apply to. I as thick skinned as they come. And there is a difference in breaking balls and being a petty whiny A#$ for the sake of being so. And as many times as its been said, nobodies "moving on past" a thread or post if it gives them a chance to put their misery in.
I don't cry when I watch movies, I got a good laugh at the thread and moved on. No need to be rude at anyone.

VB struck me as eccentric more than anything. I did read more than a few of his "reposts".
From I've read, the leader at DW runs a overly tight ship. Hope the guy lasts

Mods on these forums are sort of like your local code enforcement. They don't usually get tough with you unless your neighbors make complaints. Sometimes the complaints are warranted and sometimes not. Be a good neighbor and you have nothing to worry about.
As for why VB got the boot, it's not the mods job to spread gossip (personal info). Ask VB yourself if you really want to know. He never bothered me, but that doesn't mean he didn't do something
to deserve the ban. I don't know and it's none of my business.

For all that is VB, Drummerworld and Steve Hoffman Forum is where you get your fix. His verbosity was simply too cerebral and erudite to be constrained by the provincial likes of us. By the way, I think there's a new strain of COVID, not sure why that sprang to mind.

He's missing out on major revenue by not having merch, methinks.

I found it interesting that some members on Drummerworld are already complaining about him. It'll be interesting to see how long he lasts there.
I agree that the moderators here don't owe us an explanation either, and I'm not seeking one. THEY run the place, we do not. And its probably a good idea to keep in mind that we are all guests here.

I don't see your point... who's being a "petty whiny a#$"? And what does that have to do with VB being banned? We don't know what got him banned and besides WE don't make the rules here. The Admins and Mods do and we are just guests in their house. Be a bad guest, make their lives hard and one way or another you'll be shown the door.

Wes,
The piece you posted is what I'm referencing. I know you have read some that just constantly want to ruin, always get the last word in regarding a topic. And when someone doesn't agree with them the get real whiny. Maybe I see it different?
Someone mentions just don't post and move on with something you don't like or agree with. For some its just not possible, they have to get a last word in. Trying to change the mood of the conversation for no real reason.
My comment while not directly relating to the VB question, was more pointed at what you had quoted. Nothing at you.
As for the mods and members, I always try and write and convey my thoughts into words as respectful as possible. At times this can be an issue for anyone. Feeling and tone is hard to put into word on a forum. And I agree no one is owed an explanation as to why a member has been removed. I found VB and for that matter JBA different and harmless.

To ask VB what happened would require that I wade into a forum I haven't logged into in at least a decade. I asked here because this is where I interacted with him. I asked because while he may have been a "lightning rod", I never personally saw him say anything that broke the rules clearly posted here. And I didn't say anything about the mods, nor did I demand an answer from them-or anyone. I also don't know why he's gone, and while I agree that ultimately it's none of my business either...I simply asked a question.
Not unlike the point I've brought up a few times now, you also reserved the right to scroll past. My post clearly irritated you.
If he was removed because he actually broke a rule, so be it. If he were removed because some people here just decided they don't like him-after refusing their right to scroll past his posts-well, that's pretty heavy handed. "Drumsmith 2.0". :(

This has to be one of the most bizarre thread topics in a long long time.

It‘s odd to read a member say they don’t care and it’s none of their business … and then follow that with weighing in of why it “might” have occurred and how they feel about that … over and over.

… most likely, something a bit darker.
