Banished for an unusual sense of humor...bummer, Dood.I found it interesting that some members on Drummerworld are already complaining about him. It'll be interesting to see how long he lasts there.
I agree that the moderators here don't owe us an explanation either, and I'm not seeking one. THEY run the place, we do not. And its probably a good idea to keep in mind that we are all guests here.
"Tone" is hard to gauge online, for sure. Maybe I misunderstood you. ??You are mistaken.
Not to you. I got a chuckle from his posts sometimes, though. Sue me.Is a boomer who clearly doesn't care about drums and posts like a 16 year old girl really that interesting?
No. However, as played out as VB’s shtick became, the posts he made were still more interesting than yet another thread about whether or not Buddy was the G.O.A.T. or Ringo can play clean rolls. Is a boomer who clearly doesn't care about drums and posts like a 16 year old girl really that interesting?
I think a lot of people are missing the point. It's not about the thread ideas, we can choose to click on them or not, I'm all for choice, but it's the posters intention. His was rooted in narcissism, and not about a genuine interest in drumming. You don't have to be a trained psychotherapist to see that.No. However, as played out as VB’s shtick became, the posts he made were still more interesting than yet another thread about whether or not Buddy was the G.O.A.T. or Ringo can play clean rolls.
And FWIW, because I find those two topics to be boring any more, I don’t click on those threads.
According to the forum they are “ Threads “Can we refer to them as "topics" instead of "threads" please?
I would be one of those people. I stick my head in from time to time. I can do that, because my account wasn't banned. As in life, people come and people go.
I know that quite a few people that used to post on here all the time 5 to 10 years ago aren't on here any more.
I haven't missed any point. You-and a few others-don't like his posts, or him. And that's fine. But I would hope that isn't enough to be booted from a forum. I encounter plenty of people on other forums that I don't care for, for various reasons. I skip over their posts/comments/whatever. I don't feel the need to erase them, as others may not share my distaste for them...because that would also be somewhat narcissistic. Yes?I think a lot of people are missing the point. +1I liked the guy. Yeah he was a bit tabloid and a "mess" stirrer but he was sort of a fixture here. Squirrel Man is going to miss Mr. Black.

Maybe you guys should like, go outside more. You know, where the real people are. This is very much turning into a no-fun kind of place. I decided to stick around for the valuable info and community, but as I’ve said before much to the chagrin of people who like it this way, this place has lost a lot of its color. In general I think the people who disagree and like it this way are a bit too sensitive. But the dominant forces in the community seem to have decided.
You’ve been here less time than I have and you have more posts…Maybe you guys should like, go outside more. You know, where the real people are.
I never stated that I didn't like his posts or him, don't be presumptuous, it's lazy. I was merely providing observations. I 100% defend your need to white-knight a narcissist. Also, you're acting like he's been banned from the internet, go over to drummersworld and enjoy his presence, and then maybe you can stop your whining over here about it.I haven't missed any point. Yup, same here. He was a pretty weird dude but still fairly entertaining. It took me a while to discover that he was actually from Norway and that made him more interesting for some reason. Not sure why. I like salmon. That might explain it.I liked the guy. Yeah he was a bit tabloid and a "mess" stirrer but he was sort of a fixture here. Squirrel Man is going to miss Mr. Black.
You mean look for other drum forums outside of this one? Is that what “go outside” means?Maybe you guys should like, go outside more. You know, where the real people are.
