I wish the Pearl Rhythm Traveler kits were still in production. I would grab one.
The current Compact Traveler drums are beyond awful.

I hope DW reissues the white onyx finish for the frequent flyer and also sells the bass drum separately as an add-on drum

I have played them both and the DW is built better and sounds better but not nearly enough to justify the cost difference. Get the Tama and a new cymbal or something else with the leftover cash.

That Stage Custom 20" is still 17" deep.
Way too much depth.

Sounds pretty good here. The room at MDS has a large part to play in its sound, but there aren’t many mics involved (two OH and a kick I think), but it still sounds better than most other travel kits I’ve heard regardless of price and country of origin
