I've seen several positive posts about using Goof Off to clean gunk off of cymbals. Goof Off has a bunch of products. Which do you recommend that are effective and don't harm cymbal surfaces?

Thanks in advance to DFO!

They make a super glue remover, I used it the other day on a drum shell, haven't tried it on a cymbal yet but I wouldn't think it would hurt it

I’ve used the “basic” Goof Off (no specialty name) on cymbals with no problem. Bear in mind some new cymbals have a polish coating on them that the Goof Off will definitely remove.

Mineral spirits (odorless)--not talking a Goof off product here. Works great for removing adhesive on cymbals. Dries fast, doesn't stain, burn, tarnish. Relatively inexpensive at your local hardware store.
