If you could only have one snare and your choices were a 60's Jazz Festival & a 60's Supra Ludaloy, which one would you choose??

I would go with the 60' Ludaloy Supra. The Ludaloy Supra is just so darn versatile. With judicious tuning and muffling you can get a nice woody tone out of it. They sound great wide open and ring as well. I also like metal shell snares more for outdoor gigs as well.

Supra, I have and love both of them but the Supraphonic gets used a lot more.

Love both but Supra. Metal ring when needed or crank up the muffler for a "wood" sound.....

I had both fairly recently..... both 1967's and in essentially all-original condition. The Jazz Fest was sort of 'thuddy' to me. Not crisp. Just didn't thrill me. Sold it.....and kept the Supra.

Nice to have both but if you have to pick one between the two then the Supra is the more versatile snare.
