Ok I'm gonna list 3 that I will omit why? Because I talk too much about them...

1) questlove
2) Travis Barker
3) Brendan steinekert
4) Maxwell osawa
5) Brett Reed: he was the original drummer from rancid. Very straight forward, concise, not too flashy, subtle nuances of greatness! I will post his 5 mins chronology;

this is by kye Smith. What makes it more impressive is that it is (to my knowledge) original to the transcript. Kye goes hard and does a 5 minute long drum chronology of MANY bands!!! Sit tight, here is another solo by max!!!

Google= "For Big Sid"- max roach solo transcription. This is for jazz enthusiasts, I'm not too sure if Maxwell wants his face plastered all over the internet, so out of respect I just put the description!

I can step outside my list and must admit Neil Peart was the G.O.A.T. I mean Tom Sawyer speaks for itself with his Halo of drums!! A true mathematic and a human metronome! May he rest in peace.

I have been alive for 57 years....no way I can keep it to “5”....lol.

BUT-I can give you my top 5 from the year I first starting drumming....(1977)-

Ringo Starr
Nigel Olsson\Roger Pope (for years I thought they were the same drummer)
Danny Seraphine
Hal Blaine\Russ Kunkel\Jim Keltner\Jim Gordon (At 14 I probably didn’t even know their names...but I loved everything they were doing).
Phil Ehart

I just realized that isn’t even close to a list of my favs lol...

For Max roach:
This is a clip from four years ago from my hometown teacher, one of the best junior jazz players!

OK, I'll bite...
As of right now, at this moment;

Gavin Harrison
Simon Phillips
Larnell Lewis
WECKL
Billy Cobham

Oh, there are so many others that deserve to be on this list...
