My current five favorites. I've seen four of them live. And most importantly, I love the music that they all play.
Dennis Chambers
Simon Phillips

Jim Keltner, Levon Helm, Stanley Demeski, Charlie Watts, and probably Ringo. Honorable mention, since I learned how to play drums watching him: Tre Cool.

Since this isn't a "Who do you think is the best drummer?" thread, and all the greats have been mentioned already I would say that these are my 5 favorites due to their approach to the song, their influence on my playing and how I'd like to play someday. Some simple and some technical, and some have unorthodox styles/techniques . In no particular order:
Rick Colaluca
Jay Postones
Asgeir Mickelson (specifically his work in Spiral Architect)
Mark Zonder
Jason Rullo

(Yep, that's 6) in no order other than Elvin at #1.

No order:

Elvin Jones
Brian Blade
Levon Helm
Glenn Kotche

Those guys are the pantheon for me. After that, a bunch of people. #5 could be Orri Páll Dýrason if he wasn't a rapist, Phil Collins if he'd stopped at Abacab, Marc Giuliana if everyone at music school didn't sound like him now, Jim Keltner, James McAllister, who I think is profoundly underrated, Jay Bellerose, the guy from Grizzly Bear, Merrill Garbus, Dan Bailey because he's an old friend, great drummer, and a great hang, Ronald Shannon Jackson because he played on Power Tools, Joey Baron because of his work with Bill Frisell and everything else, Matt Chamberlain, etc.

I have been alive for 57 years....no way I can keep it to “5”....lol.

BUT-I can give you my top 5 from the year I first starting drumming....(1977)-

Ringo Starr
Nigel Olsson\Roger Pope (for years I thought they were the same drummer)
Danny Seraphine
Hal Blaine\Russ Kunkel\Jim Keltner\Jim Gordon (At 14 I probably didn’t even know their names...but I loved everything they were doing).
Phil Ehart

I just realized that isn’t even close to a list of my favs lol...
Anyone with Phil Ehart in top 5 is a friend of mine !!!

Joe Morello - Drummer who inspired me early on.
Roy Haynes - Drummer who keeps me going.
Charlie Watts - Drummer who is great and humble, switches between Jazz and Rock just like me, with the difference that I am not great but he is.

Brian Blade - Love his touch and passion behind the kit. That face when he crashes his 22” pie.

5th place is a tie between so many so I won’t mention the 5th one because it changes as the time goes and I explore different drummers.

EDIT: you know what!? There are way better drummers out there, but I’ll give the 5th place to my man Armen Tutunjyan, whose passion in Jazz and jazz drumming has inspired me infinitely and many other musicians in my motherland.

5- Armen Tutunjyan - True inspiration!

Lots of consensus names on this thread so far. I'm going to limit myself to five drummers who all influenced me greatly (in terms of musical taste and expanding how I think about playing) who have not been mentioned yet:

Ed Cassidy
Robert Wyatt
Chris Cutler
Jaki Liebezeit
Han Bennink
