With all due respect to Steve Cobb (of who I'm learning of for the first time and will go check out), Jimmy.
Check out this opening drum part by Steve Cobb. One of my favorite openings ever. And, the choked timpani (not sure who plays it), beginning at about :38 seconds is just badass!
