Only $750 for SANTANA...

Yet $15,000 for Joan Baez... sheesh!

Santana had not yet released their first album (released end of August, just after Woodstock) and were not yet known to the world. Crazy...

It was Santana's performance in the film Woodstock that launched their career. Same for Joe Cocker and Sha Na Na.

as mentioned earlier....they were relatively unkown at that time .when they performed at woodstock their first album had not yet even been released . imo they stole the show at woodstock and then everybody knew who they were .
im confident carlos has no regrets for that meager payday. best job they ever had as the exposure and positive reviews paid off so much more then the contract.

Am glad to see Johnny Winter earned so much.
While some were unknowns, that list reveals some artists had better management than others.
