Would you pay $3000 for this DW set? It is one I currently own and I paid more than $3000 to obtain it. The finish is broken glass and it is a seven piece with hang mounted floor toms. It’s in excellent condition all around. I post this because I’m curious and bored. Thanks

Subjectively, I wouldn't even if I could easily afford it.

#1 I absolutely hate hanging floor toms.
#2 I think DW routinely offers product far, far in excess of the point of diminishing returns.
#3 I've never played a lively, musical DW kit.
#4 there are so many other drums I would buy before a DW kit, probably including PDP.

It's not unreasonable considering what they'd cost new. But what you run into with a kit at that price point is you pretty much have to find a buyer looking for that exact setup. If you do decide to sell it I'd price it with and without the Edge snare.
This. The question “would YOU pay 3k” is much more likely to get a no than a yes, because very few of us would make up your potential pool of buyers. Personally, no, but it’s not my thing.

If i was 14 yo and playing drums for 1 year and my dad was a lawyer, then yes.

It is a very handsome kit no doubt. The chrome reso head looks striking with the glass finish and it takes the kit to the next level. Just not the config for me. But if i was a rich kid in a high school rock band i would grab this mofo

No. Prolly just me.
1. I don’t play toms smaller than 12”
2. No bass drums deeper than 14”
3. Snare has to be 14” in diameter
4. Floor toms need legs

I agree completely with RogersLudwig on this. You'd really have to find just the right buyer who wants these specific features. The rack for me is one of the biggest turnoffs. And I don't care for white/white-ish drums (or shoes or belts for that matter).

First, I’m biased because I own a Broken Glass Shell bank.
The snare is worth $850 by itself, so the other 6 pieces would be worth $2150. A 6 piece kit like this for $2150 is a good deal all day long for those that appreciate DW drums (ie. Not most of those here).
That said, there are those (even DW fans) that don’t think much of Finishply for whatever reason. I still think it’s a deal. Probably be worth more sold separately. Right now, I’d be interested in the bass drum. …

I would not, but I’m not a DW guy and only play a four piece.

I have an irrational aversion to racks.

All the same, that is a beautiful kit and looks like something a top session guy like JR Robinson might have used to record 10,000 hits.

I’ve played two gigs with DWs (22/12/14/16 IIRC) and, man, I felt like I was driving a Range Rover. No question about the quality. One of the shows was recorded and no question about the sound. Full, pure tone.

All that matters is that you like them, and I hope you do.

Yes, we can be a cranky (opinionated) lot around here, and I, too, don't really like DW's, but man...I hope you enjoy 'em and have great fun and success playing them!

I'm like VB and the others... great looking kit and I hope your having a blast playing it! It's not my cup of tea so no the the "would you pay" question, but I've no doubt they are well worth the price to the right player. I'm just not that player but love looking at them for sure.
