Lists on these type of web-sites are annoying. All they really want you to do is scroll through the site and see all their advertising. That's all they are.
I had no interest in getting through the list after having to click page after page.

The pop-ups were so thick that I couldn't bear it past the first two pages. Wow.

The list is given in no particular order. I'm guessing these are just the favorite drummers of the author. I didn't read any of the descriptions or explanations.

Travis Barker
Cindy Blackman
Chris Dave
Meg White
Tomas Haake (Meshugga)
Brian Chippendale (Lighting Bolt)
Janet Weiss (Sleater-Kinney)
Bill Stevenson (The Descendants, Black Flag)
Jon Theodore
George Hurley (The Minutemen)
Ronald Shannon Jackson (Last Exit)
Glenn Kotche (Wilco)
JR Robinson
Steve Jordan
Mick Avory (The Kinks)
Micky Waller (Jeff Beck Group)
Moe Tucker (Velvet Underground)
Earl Young
Earl Hudson
Pete Thomas (Elvis Costello and the Attractions)
Butch Trucks and Jaimoe

That would be my guess as well. Shrugs shoulders.

Very interesting drummers in this list.

Message to the OP,

This forum is hostile to rankings that don't include the folk music drummers of the 70s - 80s who wear sunglasses 24/7.

I see some interesting choices, including a pretty good representation of women and drummers under 60 that aren't represented on, for example, Rolling Stone's Top 100.

But Wilco? Seriously, Wilco?

Did I mention that I took home a stick double-bass legend Tomas Haake threw into the crowd back in May?

Ever since I saw a poll in Melody Maker when I was teenager that put Elvis as the Best Jazz Guitarist, I have avoided lists like this ....

Yeah, but Elvis should have made the top 100 drummer's list. 50's Slingerland Radio Kings here. And even his white shoes and shirt match the drums. How can you get any cooler than this?
