Not a poll, but just say if you could get any cymbals ever made for playing in a classic rock cover band, what would they be and why?
Just one set of cymbals, HH, 1 or 2 crashes, China, and a ride.
For me it’s a hard choice as todays sound is for darker cymbal sound but I think I would go with a set of older 14” Zildjian A new beats, a 18” Zildjian A crash, Zildjian A 20” ride and 20” Zildjian A crash.

Go to your virtual store and have fun! You can pick any cymbal you want!

Any mainstream cymbal will do. I have played shows that spanned material from the 1950's to present day.
I used contemporary K dark cymbals as that's what sounded best on stage. Any decent cymbal will do. Sabian HH, Paiste Signature or 602.
I currently play Istanbul Agop Traditional. Again, they work for all genres and all eras.

For a classic rock coverband I'm pretty happy with what I got in my bag. 14" Armand hi-hat, A custom and K custom dark thin crashes, both 18". Not really shure what ride I would use, maybe a 21" K sweet ride.

Either this or something equivalent from the 2002 series.

I'm actually playing in such a band right now. We have a gig this weekend. I'm using 15" A Avedis hats, 19" A Avedis crash/ride with 2 Bosphorus rivets (left side), 10" K Custom Dark splash, 21" A Avedis ride, 17" K Custom Dark crash, and a 20" K Con Medium with 3 Bosphorus rivets. (Pretty much only using the 20" K Con on Moondance and House of the Rising Sun.) Oh, and I have a Meinl "add-on" clap stack that I'm using for one song, Neil Diamond's Cherry Cherry.

I use 602s

Once I tried using Dark Cymbals at a pop gig and very quickly felt it wasn’t working. Pretty much at that point I went back to the 602s

This is what I’m using this weekend:

14 New Beat hollow logo hats.
21 Sabian HH Raw Bell Dry Ride
18 K Custom Dark Crash
20 old A Zildjian crash ride.

All built around the hats. They are defined, familiar, and have lots of head room.

Ride has clarity but a bit of dirt and smoke. Defined bell, a must.

Crash is quite versatile depending how it’s struck, but won’t take anyone’s head off.

Crash ride covers a lot of in between parts.
