Mine are plain A Custom 13"s, not master sound. There is something special about certain size s on cymbal model. They are pin point articulate and not too bright and hissy. Makes me play tight and groove with my 3xq3" piccolo snare. The 15" 2002's go best with my fat 6 5 classic maple.

I happened upon a Zildjian Z 13 bottom, and it sat for a long time.
Then I came upon a Zildjian K 13 top for cheap at Music Go Round.

Put them together for grins, sounded great!
At the time I didn't even know it was a thing since I really didn't keep up with all the happenings and offerings in the drum world for a long time.
... just played in the basement....
I'll go back to lurking now....

Paiste Signature 13” Dark Crisp hihats are my all time favourite 13” hihats followed by 13” Zildjian A Custom Mastersounds from when they were initially introduced .

Not much of a bright cymbal guy but I have these hats too and I love them. Something about the quickness of the 13 makes them really pleasing in a way the 14s aren’t.

Bosphorus Antique “dark” hats. 880g top / 950g bottom.
Here they are with some of the Zildj Gang:

A Customs when I need a bit more power or chunk, but my faves are easily New Beats.

Totally agree -I stumbled upon a pair of the 13" Dark Crisp hihats and was pleasantly surprised at how good they sound.

My only 13s, so they are my favorite by default. I do love them, though, and they would probably still be my favorites if I were to get another pair of 13s: 13" 1950's Zildjian Thin Hi Hat Cymbals 530/650 grams

Mine would be the sweet little UFIP 13's in the local L+M (Canadian GC), which I coveted mercilessly for all of 1988 and half of '89, and visited weekly until I had finally saved up enough to rationalize pulling the trigger on them, at which point I rushed back to the store to find them, of course, gone.

Ok, that's partly a lie. I still covet them.

I had a 13" K/Z combo pair that I used for 20 years and I liked 'em fine - but the regular 13" Avedis hats suit me much better and sound better to me now. They're more versatile and refined tonally.

The only 13s I have experience with are a pair of New Stamps Ks. I really like the quickness of 13s, the Ks are dark and can get lost in loud settings sometimes. Perfect for the right situations though
