My pair of 13" Mel Lewis Agop. Very easy to finesse the degree of opening to get a wide variety of lovely sweet sounds and effects. Not a crisp chick like some other specimens of ML 13's I've heard, nevertheless I love how expressive they are.

I quite like my 13.25" K Custom hybrids. They seem to do everything :)

K brilliants from the 90s, not sure if they have a serial no., with a heavy bottom, a K but not unlike a Z. A bit too loud for my (jazz) gigs, but they record well, some good high-mid bite/presence. Been using 14“ NBs lately when recording myself, time to bring these out again. You can hear them on this track:

I was thinking about these ones to go with my few Paiste, Master Dark Crisp ride 22, Signature Dark Energy 15" and 19" crash and Sound Factory Frankenstein logo 16" Crash. So, do you think these hats will pair well with what I already have? I plan to add a signature full crash 18" with them too, opinion?
They will work well with your current Paiste cymbals . That is the thing with Paiste - their various models fit well together . I currently have a set consisting of Traditonal, 602 and Masters and it works well .

Sabian HHX (Jojo Mayer) Fierce Hats are by far my favourite 13s and favourite hats of all time.

They are dark and complex yet also work in almost any situation. I am blown away how versatile they are. They definitely have a certain voice to them but the tah of the stick sound is awesome. They also have a lower perceived pitch from the unlathed finish. This means they have the all attributes of a 13" hat but still a nice tone, not too high or bright.

Istanbul Agop Turk. For about 20 years now. I have tried couple others and always came back to it. ‍♂️

Never had a lot of love for 13s until I played an older pair of K Custom Darks. Snatched them up and they've been my most played hats since.

The 13" size has always been my favorite. Right now, I'm using Sabian's AAX Stage Hats, which I enjoy playing.

13 in Paiste 802 hi hats. They get me to the classic Stewart Copeland sound without breaking my wallet.
Love em. Sound amazing!

I really like my Dream Bliss 13” hats. For the money they’re pretty awesome and I use them for most of my gigs when I’m grabbing my small kit.

Very good hi-hat! Do you have the regular hats or the 802 Plus? The Plus hats, though they’re supposed to be an improvement, are not as good sounding as the originals. My personal opinion, of course. The plus treatment makes the cymbals more stiff and feel less professional to me. I agree that you can get a Copeland sound with these. For those who may not know, the 802s were once Paiste’s top line of their budget cymbals.
