Mine. 1985 Paiste 2002 Heavy Ride. I still have it, but never use it. I cringe what s collection I would have if I lose so many in a house fire in college or I carelessly cracked.

My first pro cymbal was a Sabian 8" HH splash. It was pretty much all I could afford. My second pro cymbal(s) was the Sound Formula hats I still have. I think Guitar Center was blowing them out for $80. I just happened to be in the store that day and knew the Paiste name from some 502s a friend used. I won't ever sell them. I am actually hoping to find a sound edge pair for a decent price.

FWIW, my first pro cymbal was an 18" 90's A Rock Crash. I think that bastard was responsible for a fair amount of my hearing damage.
Hahaha.

My first "pro" cymbal was a 20" avedis. Over the years, as I got better, I realized that I had selected a poor one... my prior MIJ cheap cymbal actually sounded better. In short, have your teacher help you pick a cymbal.
