My 2018 new set is:
8x10
9x12
16x16
14x20 bass
6.5x14 snare metal
1 ride
1 crash, one more crash would be nice
Hi-Hat

I like two up and one down; it just gives you one more note and floor space is the same as a one up configuration due to the fact that I use two stands for the cymbals and toms.

6.5 x 14 snare.

Hats, crash, ride.

Pretty avant-garde, I know.

There was a time back in 2003 when I used a cowbell. That was short lived. Just too much engine for the dirt track.

I ordered a Tama STAR Maple in this config, and later added a 14x14 and recently a matching 13x6 snare. I have the 14 floor tom set up, but I really don't love the 2 floor tom config. I love having a sound option that bridges the gap between the 12 and the 16, but I just don't like reaching back for the 2nd floor tom.

I don't really have an ideal configuration. Too used to changing it around for different gigs, but if I have to choose one it would be 8/10/12/13/14/15/16/22 or maybe 20 and a 6.5x14 snare. 22" main ride; 20" sizzle alternate ride; 14", 16", and 18" crashes; 10" splash; 22" swish; 14" hats.

With or without a roadie?

Left side: 15" hats, 18" or 19" crash
Right side: 21" ride, 18" crash, maybe 18" effects

With:
14x,22, 7x8, 8x10, 9x12, 12x15, 13x16, 5.5x14, 6.5x14
Left side: 15" hats, 18" crash, 19" crash
Right side: 21" ride, 18" crash, 18" effects
Center: 10" splash

My Yamaha Absolute Hybrid Maples in polar white. Love that kit. I've got a shell pack and have recently ordered matching 20x16 and 24x14 bass drums. I should have those by the end of the year. And thanks.

Those Hybrids are lovely kits.

Can’t wait for the tower picture when your two new bass drums come in….

I would go with 14x20, 8x12, a 14x16 floor tom.
20" ride, 18" thin crash, and 14" hats.

If I could only pick one config and set of sizes it would be 2 up 1 dn in 22x14, 12x8, 13x9, 16x16 and a 14x6 snare.
