Today - a 1967 Ludwig Supraphonic 400 snare - dead mint , no pitting . Have not had a Supra for awhile and I love the older ones more than the current models .

Last impulse purchase was a 14x5.5 SKB snare case on drumming deals for my Yamaha Maple Custom snare.

Pearl. Saw this one and had to have it.
Steam bent, solid shell w solid rerings.
Amazing sounding and looking snare.
One of one as it is a Music City Custom shop drum.
I’ve never seen another w the same dual inlays.

Just now. I put in an offer for a 1990’s Ludwig bronze 3x13 snare thinking they wouldn’t take the offer, but they did. So it’s on the way.

I’ve become a Ludwig snare addict and for good reason. Actually I’ve become a Ludwig all around drum addict. I never played Ludwig’s growing up and then about 8 years ago I sold all my gear to focus on work. Then a few years later I got my first post selling all my gear kit which was a 60’s clubdate. And since then I’ve been hooked on the “Ludvig”. (Ludvig reference from the other post)

A 1980 Gretsch 20 lug SD in rosewood to match my kit of same year.

My last impulse buy was a Tama Star walnut 14x6.5 snare drum. I saw it on Craigslist and couldn't resist the price. I used it on a gig the next day and was instantly happy with my new purchase. I've been on a bit of a snare bender the past year or so, but have only been buying non-wood ones so this'll be a nice addition to the arsenal.

My impulse was more espratic and very unnecessary I sold all my straight 1030 and boom stands an then bought x3 brand new Pearl 1030C Curved Cymbal Stands ‍♂️

My last "drum impulse purchase" was 4 yrs ago... a new PDP 20 ply snare with wood hoops. All that wood....mmmmmmm. And relatively cheap.$250.

I bought a Paiste 602 18" flat ride and a 20" Zildjian earth ride. Just because my dad always used both and it was a bit of nostalgia. I play metal mainly so they're really no use to me ( the earth ride is a possibility) but buy do I enjoy practicing with them.

I bought in 2020 that Ludwig Black Cat limited edition in fab sizes. It’s still in the box unplayed!! My C&C player date is good enough for everything I play!! The guy from Sweetwater sure sold me to me, was sitting flush with cash at the time and it seemed like the right thing to do!! It’s a beautiful kit!!

3 used rides online. I know. Never buy cymbals you haven’t played. Zildjian K Custom Hi Def 22”; K Custom Dark 20”; K Const. med thin low 20”. I live rural. The prices were such that I figured I could re sell & not lose too much, if any, money. All in excellent condition. I would use store again, trustworthy. Do I regret purchases? No. Could’ve I gotten one very excellent high end ride for the money I spent? Yes. Should’ve I? Yes. ..but, it’s rides. I love them. Also, Pearl Sensitone Aluminum 6.5” snare. While not an un-researched purchase, as I’m constantly checking stuff out, it was definitely a sudden impulse buy. As I watched Nick DeVirgilio playing it on Sweetwater video then suddenly had the urge to tap in credit card digitry. Regret? No. Contrary. Absolutely love this snare drum. In conclusion, I regret any impulse buy which is not drum or cymbal related.

I curved my stands back in the 70s...lol.
