I have one just like this and I love it! I got it used in 1980.
It really spoiled me from any other ride cymbal for a couple decades
I actually stopped playing it (other than at home) almost 25 years ago, because I couldn't get another one if it happened to crack, or get stolen.
Since the 602's were re-released, it's made using it easier.

My latest cymbal purchase is (thankfully) *the* cymbal I’ve been trying to find for years & years. A couple years ago I heard a 20” Bosphorus SW Syncopation Ride on Hazelshould’s site that had that elusive sound I’d been searching for, and someone snagged it before I could. Several months later a good friend decided to sell one he had, which I bought. While I love it, it’s not THAT sound.

Flash forward to a few months ago, another one showed up on Hazelshould that had that elusive sound. Turns out that it’s achieved by having an oddly shallow/flat bell that this model doesn’t usually have. Anyway, I got it this time and fingers crossed…my cymbal spending will cease for a while.

I'm not Don, but I also had the luck to get a Formula 602 22 inch Thin Crash that sounds fantastic. I already wanted to bring it to your attention for the data bank, therefore I do it here.

Mine is a 'pre-serial' according to your resources, with a lot of patina (meaning never cleaned).
Here are some images:

Inside the cup, the '22' is barely visible (in red, just below the hole):

The stamp is the 'solid stamp', but the 'mark' of 'trade mark' seems completely gone:

There is something I never saw on a Paiste cymbal (but sometimes on thin Zildjians): on the under side directly below the stamp, you can see the markings of the stamp, it seems really embossed into the material.

No serial number, of course. It's relatively light for a 22, about 2320 g (which is nearly 150 g lighter than the lightest in your 'Thin Crash' list at the link above).

I bought it from a collector who unfortunately was not the first owner and couldn't tell much about the history of this particular cymbal. And I played it the same night and was happy how well it blended with my other 602s (15 inch Hi Hat, 20 inch crash). It gives a good 'ride cymbal' as well.

Got a 21" Paiste Dark Energy Mk1 Ride and a 22" Zildjian K Ride. Requested a refund on the Paiste ride due to the seller not inputting any tracking info for like 6 days and purchased the K ride..... but now that it's here I think I'll just keep both!

Picked up a couple of Paiste 2002s that both have unique hammering:

20" 2002 Dry Ride (2392g) - Really enjoying the sound of this one, lighter weight, darker tone and more pronounced ping then my 20" Signature Dry Ride (2523g). Feels heavier under a stick than the weight suggests.
18" 2002 Rock Crash (1636g), Brighter, heavier, louder and higher pitched than my 18" 2002 Crash (1480g), 18" 2000 Crash (1427g) and 18" Sound Formula Full Crash (1434g). Pairs well tonally with a 19" Signature Heavy Full Crash (1821g) and 17" RUDE Thin Crash (1320g)

AMAZING condition!
The "solid stamp" means it was produced at the earliest around 1965 to the latest 1970. Around early '71 (still preserial) they started to stamp "Paiste" in ink above the bell but not "Formula 602". This helps narrow down the range of years your cymbal was produced.

I know what you mean, I had one of the early SW Syncopation rides in 21". It just had this special sauce to it that the others I heard did not have.
Maybe it was the bell! I should not have sold it!

Beautful tah stick, weighs 2230g yet wobbles like crazy. It has the lowest tension I've ever experienced in a ride.





The tape residue had to come off, and with it so went the ink

I'm a big fan of AAX cymbals, great value for the money in the used market, especially the dark crashes!

Super, ultra, mega, turbo rare!
"Box stamp" preserial 2002 16" crash, 1st. off the production line.
Never seen this stamp in person before, word is the very 1st. 2002's that rolled off the production line had this stamp but they had too many problems with it and changed it, it was also difficult to produce, I'm sure it would also lead to cracking around the "box" over time.
1010g. this cymbal feels like a paperthin!

I've been fascinated with the K Sweets and have been considering getting the boxed set.

I got the 18" crash to go along with the 17 and 19 and to test before pulling the trigger on the full set.

My old A's are making my ears bleed and I like the way the Sweets sound. Though I am not crazy about the the name!

From the moment I first heard my 19" Sweet Crash, I've known it was a lifetime keeper. Just that perfect, dark, low, harmonious sound that I hear in my head. It's never out of place.

I once made the mistake of selling "the perfect" EAK 18" crash, even when I knew that I shouldn't.
...never again!

It's always been hard for me to bond with any crash cymbal.
My 19 actually, for some reason, sounds pretty similar to how I remember that 18" sounding.

I've been curious about the rides. Especially the 23".
