This past week....... Zildjian 16" first stamp (879 gm) and a 20" SSA small stamp 50's at 2160 gm. These 2 had been together for a long time with the same deep brown patina.
Also got a pair of 15" type 3 trans stamps at 866/899 gm that play very nicely.

Didn't know if this should go in the cockpit views or here, but this is my new cymbal set. Made the move to Sabian HHX, finished the set during the holidays, the hats actually came on New Year's Day.
3 Vault cymbals, 20" ride (probably regular HHX medium ride), 18" crash (probably HHX Evolution), 15" crash (probably a Fierce).
HHX Complex Thin 17" and 19" crashes, Complex Medium hats.

All on my new Tama SCM kit. Having way too much fun with these.

Has not arrived yet, but I just purchased a much searched for Ufip natural series 20 crash from Dogmanaut
Can't wait to get it.
My most expensive cymbal to date, but I really like those naturals. Although light in volume, they sound so good in person and when recorded.

Are the hats 14" or 15"? My local shop had the 15's, they sound fantastic. Great drums and cymbals, congrats!

Well I did it. After months of debate I'm finally dipping my toes into the Paiste pool and introducing another brand other than Sabian into my setup for the 1st time in 35 years. Don't get too excited (although I am):

PSTX 14 Swiss Thin Crash

I'm loving it. Perfect amount of trash with a slight "whispiness" sustain that allows some nice rolls. I now have it with a 10 AAX Air Splash and 8 AAX splash stacked above it. Not literally but on Gibraltar stackers. I'd include a pic but it's at the rehearsal house!
I've gone even further! After receiving a too good to pass offer on Reverb out of the blue, just for watching them, I'll be getting a new set of PST7 medium hats soon! The current plan isn't to replace my beloved AAX Stage (although we'll see) but I really want to add a second set on my right.

I have MS and the current soul, Motown, blues I'm doing has quite a few songs with straight 8ths on the hi-hat the whole way through which has been causing extra spasticity in my right shoulder. I figure switching it up will help. Now I just need recommendations on mounting a mostly closed set without breaking the bank!

Just brought home a Cymbal Crafstman 20" flat ride. I really like flats and have never played another this nice (certainly have not played them all). This has a bright / dark character to it - very pronounced and woody stick with an initial sparkle in the attack that softens to a warmer wash with suprisingly great sustain. As should with a flat ride, never gets out of control. The question with flats is how well does it crash, and this does so wonderfully. Edge crashes blossom quickly and hang around just a bit longer than most flats I've played, though not too long so the stick never gets lost - I really like that. The side stick crash is where this really shines with a very bright shimmer, almost metallic but not harsh and very musical. Paul really knows how to make a great flat. I highly recommend trying one if you have a chance.

Obviously this one has been handled quite a bit at the music shop, and I have plans to clean it up some (before putting my own grime on it). I'm thinking Groove Juice should be safe with this?
