Seeing the Niacin, Playboy all star band and numerous greatest ever threads made me think it would be interesting to see who the discerning members on here would pick (alive or deceased) for your ultimate band, any style of music and number of members that you want to put together. I searched and found nothing, hopefully it hasn't been done before.

I've thought about it numerous times over the years and there's so many incredible players from different genres but for me it would be Simon Phillips (drums), Billy Sheehan (bass), Steve Vai (lead and rhythm guitar), Malcolm Young (rhythm guitar), Chris Cornell (vocals) and if I was going to add a keyboard player John Lord.

I'd love to see what these guys could have created if they were all still around and got together, how about yourselves, who would you have?

Kenny Hoopla - Vocals (plus random backflips)
Mike Dimkich - Rhythm guitar

Karl Alvarez - Bass
Travis Barker - Drums

Genre would be Pop Punk, of course.

I like thinking about this stuff, I could go several different directions on this because I like the freedom of it, but to start out I'll go:
Jaco Pastorius on Bass.
Jimi Hendrix on Guitar.
Steve Marriott on Vocals.
Ginger Baker, Drums.

I was about to list the same guys, but without Marriott. I mean, if you have Hendrix in the band you don't need a stand-alone vocalist.

Bass: Victor Wooten
Rhythm guitar: Bob Weir
Lead guitar: John Mayer
Keys: Herbie Hancock
Lead vocal: Wilson Pickett
Lots of female backup vocals

I wanna play drums with this band, but if Carter Beauford showed up, OK, he can play he's better.

We'd play R&B soul with a jam-band ethos. It would be the coolest band ever.

I liked his earlier stuff, not so much the latest album except for a couple tracks.
